7-9 nights Road Trip with Toddler

We have 7-9 days in Europe this summer between visiting family in Denmark and spending the last couple of nights in Barcelona. We are looking to tour a couple of places by car (or train). We are an early 30s couple with an 18 month old (at time of trip). Here are some things we have considered but we are also open to other suggestions:

-Munich to Milan via Swiss Alps and Lake Como
-Munich, Salzburg, Vienna (also could do by train)
-Prague to Munich or Prague to Vienna with various stops on way.
-Helsinki, St. Petersburg, Tallinn (would do boat/train)
-French Alps/Provence (fly to Geneva, Nice or Lyon)
-Milan to Lyon via Lake Como and French Alps, possibly Turin also.
-Normandy/Brittany with a brief stay in Paris.

Any advice on what would be most toddler friendly? This will be the first week of September, so we don't want something too hot. We were originally going to do Andalusia but we decided against it because the heat will be too much.

Nothing too far afield please, I want to be able to take reasonably priced direct flights from CPH and to BCN to/from the endpoints.

Normandy and Brittany sound like a more toddler friendly itinerary, less moving around on trains.

Dont know how well your toddler (and you) adjusts to sleeping in new places. My 2 cents - 7-9 days is not that long. I would pick one place to stay (or 2 max) and explore from that base. I think Paris /Normandy would be a great plan. Lovely parks and boat trips in Paris, Normandy has the beaches.
At that age -its nice to know where you are sleeping, where you can eat etc

We did 9 days in England last year on the way back from Denmark when she was 6 months old. We found that the time we were in the countryside with a car was far more enjoyable than being in London and dealing with crowds and public transit. However, we found Copenhagen wasn't too bad with her because it is much more walkable and less intense than a big city.

Whatever we do, I don't want to stay in more than 3 places and I want to keep time in the car down to 2-3 hours at a stretch max.

Neither of us are French speakers, which I found has caused a lot of stressful moments in previous trips to France.

Best advice I can give you is to get the child sucking on something well before landing and just before taking off. If they are hurting, it's much harder for their ears to catch up and often won't suck on something because they are hurting. Most of the pressure change occurs as you go below 14,000 feet until you are on the ground.
