Many of our hotels want to be paid in cash for the full amount when we arrive. We don't want to travel with a bunch of cash, what are your recommendations? We have a $300 limit on each ATM withdrawal daily.

I had only to ask my bank and they upped my daily limit to $500.

A good thing to remember is that if you are talking about you and your spouse and you both have an atm card on the same account, you both can withdraw the maximum out of each account doubling your daily withdrawal.

Have your limit raised, I did that when the euro was at 1:55 and taking out 300 dollars was not going to cut it for me ,,, Also, when paying in cash always get a reciept, had a hotel in Rome ask for payment on leaving when I had already paid on arrival and they seemed to have " no record of that" ,,, luckily I could pull out reciept.
