Looking for hotel in the Puerta del Sol area in Madrid for around $100. Will be staying the beginning of May for 2 days. Anybody have a favorite hotel in a great location in my price range ? Thank you for your help.

I stayed at Hostal Acapulco a month ago and enjoyed it, only a couple of blocks from Puerta del Sol.

On Gran Via, Hostal Montecarlo and Hostal Phillipe V, both in the same building, about 15 minute walk from Puerta del Sol are both good. Adjacent to a subway stop as well. At interesection of Gran Via, Calle Funercaral, and Monterna.

Agree on Hostal Acapulco (not a hostel but a small hotel). Super clean, balconies overlooking Plaza del Carmen, cheap (our quad was 85€ per night – doubles are less yet), and highly rated on tripadvisor – see tripadvisor for reviews and photos.

Last May we also stayed at Hostal Acapulco - it was in good location and very reasonably priced!
