Where is the best place in France to visit early/mid November outside of Paris? Is it too late to catch any fall foliage?

I like the Alsace region myself. Metz and Strassbourg are pretty and you can pop over into Germany from there no problem. In an average year the fall foliage will be mostly gone but last year it was warm all the way until late October so the leaves changed really late.
