Christmas in Europe

I found a ridiculously low price using miles and a free voucher Phoenix to Munich. I have read a lot of information on flyer talk about how difficult it was to find flights using BA miles, especially in the Summer. Only alternative due to school schedule was Christmas break. I am keeping my fingers crossed that BA doesn't strike and volcano keeps quiet.

12/18 Phx to Munich with 9 day layover in London (only choice). 12/27 London to Munich. 12/30 Munich to Phx.

This is my plan:

12/18 Fly to London

12/19 Arrive in London

12/20 London

12/21 London

12/22 London

12/23 Early morning Eurostar to Paris

12/24 Paris

12/25 Paris

12/26 Evening Eurostar to London

12/27 Early morning flight to Munich

12/28 Munich

12/29 Munich

12/30 Fly to Phoenix

These are the only dates available using miles and without conflicting with school schedule. Unfortunate we miss out on Munich Christmas markets.

This is definitely more rushed then I like, but hey, we are going to Europe.

My concerns:

  1. After problems with Eurostar last year during this time, should we fly back to London from Paris? Am I pushing it too close?

  2. Anyone have experience on spending Christmas in Paris?

  3. Will I have a difficult time taking Eurostar to London and underground to Heathrow on Boxing Day?
