5 days in November - Where to go?

Hello! Very inexperienced European traveler here! Trying to plan a last minute trip for the first week of November. Going to visit someone in London and would like to add on 5 days to also go somewhere else. Have only ever been to London and Paris. Where else would you recommend for:
1) Easy access, (not much travel time wasted) from London
2)Sight seeing - we enjoy historical sites as well as museums
3)Weather similar to London, so as to not have to pack different items
Thanks so much!

You could take the Eurostar to Brussels and from there you could easily visit Bruges, Gent, and or Antwerp on day trips. I think weather would be similar and lots of history and museums.

What about Edinburgh? Easy train ride up (could stop in York for one night and have 2 short-ish train rides). lots of history, good museums and plenty to see and do.

Or you could fly to Salzburg or Vienna. History and music and museums. From Salzburg you could do a day trip to Burchesgarten or the Salt Mines or the Saltzkamergurt area.
Or Oslo. Lovely, clean city. Viegland sculpture garden, museums, etc.

.... Lots of places to consider

Short train trips from London would take you to Cambridge, Oxford, Bath, and so on. A 5-hour train trip would get you to Edinburgh.

Amsterdam. There's an easy overnight ferry between Netherlands and UK.

Can you fly open-jaw? If so, Amsterdam would be my choice. But if you have to return to London to fly home, you will want/need to spend your last night close to the airport - not rely on international train travel to get there.
