I've started dreaming that I've forgotten my passport when going to the airport, with 45 days to go til I fly. Happens before every trip.
This is why I check my bag over and over on the way there. Where exactly I think it's gone once we are in a car with closed doors I could not say, but I have to do it.
Anybody else have the passport dream? Or maybe the kettle left on?
I’ll go you one better. I will check our passports in the fire proof box to see if 1, they are still there and 2, they haven’t expired.

I had a similar dream a couple of weeks ago; it was about 7 weeks before our trip coming up in March. It was awful!
We got to the airport gate and suddenly realized we had forgotten our luggage. (You would think we would have noticed this when we went through security, but no...) I'm one to get to airports really early and I had done this in my dream. So I told my husband we should have enough time to take an uber back to the house to get our luggage. Unfortunately, when we got back home, I discovered, I had never even packed! So I was running around the house getting things and throwing them in the suitcase. I was in a total panic, worried I'd forget something.
I woke up before we got back to the airport, and I was still full of anxiety. It took quite a quite a while before I was able to calm down.
Interesting. Maybe it’s a good thing that I never remember my dreams.
Oh my gosh...you guys are cracking me up and now I am so suggestible I am BOUND to have a passport or empty missing luggage dream.
Andrea-Canada - I have just now gone upstairs to make sure my passport is where I always keep it. It is. Now I'm deciding if I want to leave it where it always is or move it to my luggage for a trip in THREE months, hahaha!
Barbara - I know when my passport expires (2030) but recently I thought to check when my Global Entry expires. It's up this August so I've got it on my calendar to do after the next trip.
Carroll...did you have to do laundry in your dream or were your "travel undies" clean? Or do you not want to confess that, hahaha! AND more to the point, have you started throwing random things into your suitcase?
Andrea-Sacramento - I never remember my dreams but that is probably one I'd have in the last set of dreams just before waking so would remember it!
Not dreams, but constant checking. I make my Uber drivers wait while I check for my passport "one more time." Because you never know what might have happened to it between the front door and the car ;-)
I just never take my passport out of my purse. That way I can check on it at any time - and also hop a plane on short notice at any time (even if I forgot my luggage).,

My friend who frequently drives us to the airport always asks us whether we have our phones, ID, and if applicable, our passports. We have to actually touch them in our bag or pocket before she’ll drive away from the house.
Thankfully I don’t remember dreams either!
I’m sorry for those of you having panicky pre-trip travel dreams, not only do you have to worry about packing during the day, but overnight as well!
I make a list of every single thing I need to take on a trip……writing down “passport and bank cards” in big red letters.
Checking it off just before I leave for the airport.
But I also keep checking my bag on the way to the airport, just to be sure!
I did drop my passport in an airport once and didn’t realise until I heard my name being called over the tannoy system..
I forget where I was now, but I did get it back before boarding.
Last night I dreamed about seat selection. We were on the way to the airport and I noticed we no longer had any seat selected. I tried to fix it, but the seat map showed every last seat taken. So we were freaking out we weren't on the flight.
Thanks to everyone; you make me feel a bit better about my neuroses. Funny thing about my passport obsession on the way to the airport - once we get to our destination I don't check at all, seemingly secure in the knowledge it's where it's supposed to be.
I recently dreamt I checked into my hotel only my "room" was just a bed in the middle of what looked like a busy office building lobby with no walls or privacy (or bathroom!). When I pulled up my reservation apparently this is exactly what I had booked! 😂
