(FYI) Travel Shows on TV

Hi Everyone, I know you all like dreaming of vacations and planning your next trip like I do. I recently discovered that there is a TV Channel called 'HD Net' and it has several travel shows to watch on it. I'm not sure which cable/satellite companies have this channel, but it may be worth it for you to check it out (I think you can go on the HD Net website and look up your location). For instance, on Sunday mornings, it has Rick Steves ETBD, Smart Travels/Rudy Maxa, Ultra Eye (which focuses more on fashion and modern architecture in several world-class cities), In Focus (a half-hour showcase of different European countries recorded from a helicopter), and Baltic Coasts (again taken from above). They have some other shows as well in which they travel to different cities for a specific purpose (such as Drinking Made Easy) which may interest you. I came across this channel this summer when I just happened to catch a commercial advertising Rick's show. I like that all the shows are in High Def. Enjoy!

Sadly, Time Warner dropped HD Net a few years ago:(
But Rick's TV shows are also available in HD via your local PBS affiliate.

I've found a lot of good travel shows on PBS - Rick Steves, Rudy Maxa, Globe Trekker, and Richard Bangs' Adventures with Purpose. The channel Wealth TV had some travel shows in the past but I haven't checked listings in a long time. The travel shows on this channel featured high-end hotels and expensive shopping, but the hosts also visited places of interest for everyone, like Petra and the Taj Mahal.
