We would like some recommendations for hotels in Budapest and Vienna. Three star or better, rates around $125 to $150 US preferred.

We have stayed in 2 hotels in Vienna. The DeFrance is on the Ringstrasse and about a 5 min. walk to the Rathaus. The Mercure was near the West Bahnhoff (western train station)- about a 8-10 min. walk to the center city. Both were very nice- 3 or 4 stars.

I’ll recommend Pension Suzanne very near the opera house in Vienna. This is a nice hotel at a reasonable rate of around €100 per night for a double. The rooms are large, clean, and nicely appointed. Hotel is quiet. You’ll have to ignore the building façade, which is reminiscent of a Soviet era communist party headquarters. It’s highly rated on www.tripadvisor.com.
