Hello, I was first going to stay in Oia, but then was advised that since I am a mom traveling with my 17 and 18 year old daughters that they would rather stay in Fira at the end of august. So now I am trying to find a decent hotel room with a view and a/c for $100 also with a pool.Does anyone know the hotel villa ilios, not to be confused with illias. It looks nice, but all I could find was one negative review of the place in French. Any ideas for a hotel? Thank you

I agree with your daughters that you want to stay in Fira. Oia is a beautiful place but there isn't much there and it's just over 5 Km. (about 3.5 miles, too far to walk, too expensive to taxi, & infrequent busses) from Fira, where all the restaurants and shopping are. Be sure to visit Oia though.
