If I wait to reserve a hotel in Naples (Sept 30) rather than reserving in advance online..what are my chances of finding one not far from the airport? Only need it for one night. Can I wait until I arrive in Naples on Sept 24th.

Cannot answer your question directly since I don't know the Naples airport set up. While we often travel without reservations, the two reservations we always have is the first night or two and the last night since that could be critical for the departure.
