3 weeks: Paris Italy and Switzerland

Hi there,

My partner and I are planning a a dream trip to Europe and I was hoping to get some guidance on transportation and itinerary planning. We have 3 weeks booked off and have a round trip flight to and from Paris. Our plan is to explore northern Italy and Switzerland as well a a few (3-4 days) in Paris to visit friends. We arrive in Paris June 1ST and leave June 21st.

So far we have planned to attend the following areas:
Paris( 3 days) + 1 day before departure
Cinque Terre 4 days
Florence 2 days
Venice 3 days
Lake Garda 2 days

We haven’t quite planned how to spend 4-5 days in Switzerland yet.

I was hoping to end the trip with Switzerland and try to head to Cinque Terre after Paris to avoid crowds.

I’m having some issues with building an itinerary that makes sense and is efficient via rail travel.

Any advice would be helpful. Some specific questions:
-how to get from Paris to Italy ?
-is a Eurail pass worth it?
-should I go from Paris to Switzerland first?

Thank you

Looks like both Ryan Air and EasyJet fly nonstop Paris to Pisa. From there, take a train to your CT village.
Highly doubt that Eurail pass would be cheaper than point to point tickets (and one off the Swiss passes in Switzerland.) You'll have to do your own math on that.

You aren’t going to avoid any crowds by going to crowded Cinque Terre.
You give the CT four days but less time in each Florence, Venice and Lake Garda which doesn’t make any sense. Florence and Venice are among Europe’s greatest treasures.
Paris to Italy? Fly
Eurail pass? No
