25-day trip for Fussen, Hallstatt, Salzburg, Vienna, Prague, Cesky Krumlov, Budapest

Hello.

Flying from Asia, we are planning a 25-day trip in June of 2018 to Fussen, Hallstatt, Salzburg, Vienna, Prague, Cesky Krumlov, Budapest. We (3 adults) will travel by train or bus. I am hoping some fellow Rick Steve's travelers will share your opinion for the itinerary. We can start from Munich/Prague/Vienna/Budapest, all depends on how the itinerary is.

Thank you in advance for your time!

Check airfares to and from your possible starting and ending points. You may find substantial differences. From my hometown, Munich is usually a lot cheaper than the others. It may be totally different for you.

You'll save time and the price of a train ticket by not completing a circular route. I'd look at flying into Prague and home from Budapest. In between, either Cesky Krumlov or Fuessen is likely to create some backtracking. Consider skipping Fuessen, especially if you don't also want to visit Munich, and substituting another, closer small town side trip within the three countries of focus.

Looking Up Train Schedules and Routes Online gives you the Deutsche Bahn train schedule link and tips for using it.

Why don't you get a map and propose a tentative itinerary? Folks here are pretty good at commenting on itineraries that are presented. All of those cities are in the same general area, there is a natural progression to the trip. Start in Munich, etc. My only suggestion is to plan on 3-4 nights per stop, putting you at 6-7 stops. Others might suggest fewer stops. You will have few long trips between stops, if planned sensibly.
