That is very nice diplomatic taking the kids (who generally not interested in what adults like in travel)
to Disneyland an American born product in a foreign country. Most here might suggest that as a day trip from Paris.
Everything else is set your cruise schedule.

You live in Caligornia. Don't waste time in France at Disneyland!

I think we will find 1.5 days adequate as we are all kids at heart in my group and are all excited to ride some new as well as old favorite rides (Disneyland is as long a drive from us as DL France is via airplane) but not necessarily wanting to devote a lot of time there.

I thought it a brilliant mix to add it at the start as well so that jet lag battles and adjusting to being on another continent for the first time be in someplace fairly familiar. I realize that not everyone enjoys Disney, but we sure do. So no, in no way will that be a waste.

I would love to hear if anyone has constructive comments on the distribution of other days in the plan, if it vital to extend a bit more or if we have more than enough time, etc.

Planning a first ever trip is overwhelming and I know this forum has some real experts with a lot of helpful knowledge to share. So thank you in advance.

If you can add more time, do so. There are more than three days' worth of wonderful things to do in each of the cities you're visiting, not to mention great side-trips you can take. As you continue preparing for your trip, I guarantee that the list of things you want to do and see will get longer. Better to have as much time as possible rather than regretting that the trip was shorter than it needed to be.

I cannot imagine spending time in Euro Disney after spending good money to fly to Europe. Instead, enjoy Europe and all its history, culture and art.

@acraven thank you for confirming that. Originally this was to be a much shorter trip it keeps expanding. If possible with work might stretch it to a full month. So much to see, do, savor, and enjoy!

Given your desire to visit Disneyland Paris I think you've allocated your time well. You won't see too much of Paris, but enough to whet your appetite for a return trip. My only suggestion is that instead of staying at Disneyland, stay in central Paris. The train trip out to Disneyland is about 40 minutes - this will avoid another change of location (thus saving you some time). Yes, you would miss the evening at Disneyland but that may be a good thing. With a noon arrival, that gets you into central Paris by about 3pm or so. After finding your hotel, cleaning up and unpacking, it's great timing. Go for a walk, have dinner at a relaxing cafe, find dessert and then head back to the hotel for a well deserved nights sleep. Personally, I've found that a lower key activity after arrival helps me adjust better.

Mary,

I too am a disney lover, but I am in agreement with the other posters. I'd like to suggest Mont St. Michel as an alternative. You'd have to rent a car outside paris to get there, but I think a night there would be much more memorable for your daughters. I have family with 12 children that lived outside London for 10 years. ALL of her kids say Mont St. Michel was their favorite place to visit! I've taken my own kids there twice. My now 22 y/o remembers it vividly from his visits there at the age of 7 and 13. It was definitely a favorite for him!

You could make a short 2 night trip out of 1 night at Mont St. Michel and 1 night in the Loire Valley at a Chateau.

I appreciate the constructive feedback coming in this morning! Hadn't thought of setting up 1 spot and taking train to Disney, that definitely gives me something to think about!!

Your plan has a good mix in your cities for the time you have. I agree with the others and stay in Paris and take the train out and back. You will lose at least a half day changing hotels. Enjoy!

Paris, Barcelona, Rome, what's not to like about your trip. A week cruising, a day or two at Disneyland may not be to everyone's liking, but it's your holiday, so why not. Given you are travelling as a family I think a variety of experience is to be welcomed. You will have s great time. Enjoy the anticipation.
