3 nights between London and Paris... What should we do?

Hello all!

After receiving much help in yesterday's post, I'm back with a final question....

My girlfriend and I (both late 20s) will be travelling to London for 4 nights and Paris for 4 nights in late September (and first few days of October).

We have 3 open nights in between, and are wondering what to do with those days. We know we could extend each city, especially considering we'll be jetlagged Day 1 in London, but would love to see a different place if it's feasible.

Here are a few of our thoughts:

  1. Edinburgh (train from London, fly to Paris)
  2. Bruges/Ghent
  3. Normandy, Bordeaux, or elsewhere in France (would love suggestions!) *We could put these two nights at the end of the trip, returning to fly out of Paris.
  4. York, Bath, Oxford, or elsewhere in the UK (would love suggestions!)

What would you recommend from the above? Would love any input and suggestions.

Thanks!

Hi,
If you really don't want to extend Paris, I would say Bruges / ghent. Easiest travel wise, and 2 nights is appropriate for one or the other.
But I challenge whether four nights in Paris are sufficient. It's only three full days. Is it your first time? Do you want to visit Versailles? If you answer "yes" to either question, I would add a fifth night in Paris. And with your spare night, maybe overnight in Oxford.

EDIT: saw your other post, I see you trimmed a lot already. So my vote is "4n London, 2n Bruges, 4n Paris"
