2 bedroom apartments in the La Defense area of Paris

Hi, Has anyone stayed in 2 bedroom aptmts. in the La Defense area...it's outside of the Arrondisements. The nearest metro is called Pont de Neuilly. If you have what can you tell me about that La Defense area...as far as what
type of neighborhood..grocery stores, restaurants, deli's,
bakery, etc. Seems this area is quite a bit less expensive for aptmt. rentals....than central Paris....thanks very much.

I haven't personally been to this part of Paris, but you can cyber walk around the area courtesy of Google Maps. This is right in front of the metro station:

It is a long way to the sights by metro.Neat area, but I would not want to stay there unless I had business there. For the casual traveller it seems to me to be too far out. We have been there many times to photograph.

I had the same thought as Jane (above post). I guess it depends on your weighing or balancing the lower cost versus the preferable neighborhood ambience in another location that's more expensive. You can use Google Map Street View to compare the La Defense neighborhood with other neighborhoods you're considering, to help decide how much, if any, "neighborhood ambience" you're giving up compared to the closer in areas. I guess this decision relates to: In Europe travel you sometimes get what you pay for but you only occasionally get what you don't pay for.

We found great deals on two bedroom apts in the Arrondisements, but at the edge of the popular areas.

We were going to rent a two bedroom (1 bath) with an awesome Eiffel tower view for only $450EU for 5 nights.(Homelidays #176319) It was near the bottom of Arr 7,(top of 15) next to a Metro and rail connections. But we found a "better" one bedroom a little closer in.

I don't know what apt rental agency you are using, but try Homelidays.com, and then VRBO.com.

What price are your looking for?

Hi, la Defense is a relatively modern area just next to Paris mostly for businesses and employees families. It's not a bad area per se, just not the pictoresque Paris. It's not very far either, you're just 5 minutes by tube from the Arc de Triomphe and Champs Elysées, 15 to the Eiffel Tower.
