Has anyone tried the Travelpro WalkAbout Lite 2 19" Rollaboard Upright, weighing 7 lbs, 8oz??? Seems like this may be the perfect carry on rollaboard.

hi Dawn
I just purchased this for carry on travel. I am amazed at how small it is & how much I have packed inside it...I also purchased the companion tote that slips over the handle for ease of carrying it.
Very well made! (PackingLight.net has them on sale)

It would seem that the terms "carry on" and "rollaboard" in the same sentence are kind of a contradiction.

Unless you are willing to fly a US airline, without a weight limit, the rollaboard is too heavy. On Lufthansa, my favorite airline, the carryon weight limit is 8 kg, 17.6#. With a 7#8oz bag, you are limited to only 10# of personal things, what you bought the bag to carry in the first place. With my 1.75# convertible, I can take almost 16#, over 50% more. Or, looking at it another way, if I limit myself to the 10.1# you can take with the 7.5# bag, I only have to carry less that 12#.
