I am looking for insight regarding my itinerary. It's a pretty aggressive 12-day trip, and I am mostly trying to figure out if a 3-country rail pass would be more cost effective/convenient that buying point-to-point tickets.
March 13-15, Paris --> afternoon train to Lucerne
March 15-17, Lucerne --> Bernina Express to Tirano, Tirano to Milan, Milan to Venice
March 17th-19, Venice --> Afternoon train to Florence
March 19th-21st, Florence --> Mid-morning train to Rome
March 21st-24th, Rome
On the 17th, we leave Lucerne very early to catch the Bernina Express through the Alps. After we arrive in Italy, we'd like to see The Last Supper in Milan and then head to Venice.
So, a 3-country saver pass is $379. I know reservations are required for the majority of trains and we have purchased the reservations for the Bernina Express. We'd like to travel 1st class with three adults.
