Layover in Brussels

My daughter and I are traveling from D.C. to Athens on Brussels Airlines. We have an 8 hour layover at the Brussels airport. We would like to take the train to The Grand Place for a few hours. Is it pretty easy to check out and into the airport for foreign travelers?

You will undergo immigration controls in Zaventem indeed. After that, you can reach the central area near Bruxelles Centrale with train on a 20-min train trip. Quite easy.
