Is there something special happening during your stay?

I have a friend that always stays at Hotel Cadran and she really likes it. I there is the main hotel and an annex across the street to the west. If I were going to stay there I'd ask to be in the main hotel building although many don't mind the annex. I'd be surprised if it's 2000E for 3 nights. Unless you are going next week or during some event.

I walk from nearby hotels to the Musee dOrsay, Louvre and Notre Dame although if I am going to the last 2 I usually take the Metro there and walk back along the Seine. It takes me 28 minutes to walk to the Orsay - I'm mid 70's.

We stayed two doors down at the sister property to Hotel Signature. It's a fantastic neighborhood and a narrow one way road for easy car pick up. Skip uber and download the G7 official Paris taxi app which acts just like the uber app, except official taxi's can use the bus lanes making them quite efficient.

The only negative on Hotel Signature is that it is across the small street from an elementary school. We happened to be there during spring break making it the quietest street in Paris, but not sure how hectic drop off/pick up is during the school year or if it would impact you or not.

For a first visit to Paris, I would personally choose the 5th arrondissement, ideally around the Latin Quarter, close to Notre-Dame and Île Saint-Louis.

I live and work in the Paris area, so I know the city and its different neighborhoods quite well. The 5th arrondissement is a wonderful area for simply wandering on foot, with the Seine, Luxembourg Gardens, Saint-Germain and the historic center all within easy walking distance.

For only three nights, I think location matters more than the hotel itself. Staying in this part of Paris allows you to step outside in the morning and immediately start enjoying the city without having to rely much on public transport.

And for a first visit, being able to stroll along the Seine, cross Île Saint-Louis and see Notre-Dame almost as part of your daily walk is, in my opinion, hard to beat.

As for any transit “needs” that you mention, that depends where you plan to go and how far you’re willing to walk, but we were delighted with the hotel and its location as more fully described in the linked review.

LATE NOTE - Personally, I preferred being 12 to 15 minutes away, on foot, from Notre Dame and Pl. St. Michel
