My credit card is valid and I have been using it without problem in Paris. However, today, I tried to use it to get a G7 car. Three times it rejected my cards and said to call my bank. I tried to reach them through their app, but it only seems to work in French, which I do not understand.

Sorry, but it happens. You tripped a fraud alert. Their system has seen something that trips their fraud algorithm. Grab another card and use it. Very frustrating but understandable, I guess.
I've had it happen paying for services and car and train reservations in Europe while I was still in America planning the trip. It has also happened in Europe where they shut a card down. I used another card and handled it when I got back home. My wife tripped it running from store to store buying clothes in Paris. LOL
Does your card have an overseas customer service number on the back of it? Call it and they should be able to help.

Your CC payment plight is why I always carry local currency. My usual stash in pocket in Euroland is minimum 200...and usually a little more than that. What I take home with me I carry on my next trip.

I just had this issue last week when trying to pre-book a G7 cab in Paris. I finally had to add my American Express card the delete the app, re add it and the Amex card was there to use.
I recommend deleting the app, shutting off your phone, reinstalling and using another CC if you have one.
BTW, I had previously used the same card last October on the app with no issues.

That happens to me not just with the G7 but with other apps overseas as well. I don’t worry about it, though. I just use another card. On one transport app in Romania I had to use two or three before I got one it would accept. But I have six or seven cards on Apple Wallet and so I have plenty of choices.
