Provence - good small town for family to stay put and experience French life for a few weeks

My family is planning to visit Provence in June, 2024, and are hoping to find a great spot in which to largely stay local and experience daily life in France. Of course, we would like to be able to visit a few special places, but we don't want to be on the go. We want to "get used" to a place and be familiar with it. At the same time, we don't want to just sit at our rental with nothing to do! Things that are important are scenery, walkable distance to village shops, a few affordable restaurants or cafes, a few nice day trips, walkable to a market. I would love any suggestions! (Family's kids ages range from 11-23, and most of us speak some French).

We spent a month last summer in Maussane les Alpilles. It was great for us and should check all your boxes.

Check out L'Isle Sur La Sorgue. I spent a month in a rental house there during my maternity leave. I never ran out of day trips and the weekend market attracts folks from all over. The "downtown" is not too big and I could walk to it from the house, which was on a gentleman's small sunflower farm (I was not there for the sunflowers, I was there in May). A few years earlier, I spent six weeks in Tourrettes Sur Loup during another maternity leave, and also had endless fabulous day trips to Eze, Antibes, Gourdon, Grasse, Cannes, Les Baux, an overnight in St. Tropez.
