Paris hotel March 2027 so many choices!

Hello. Canadian seniors, visiting Paris for three nights before heading to Brussels in mid March 2027. We plan to see few sights as this will be my husband's first time in Paris but are hoping to see a few off the tourist path things as well. I have been searching and searching for a hotel in Paris for three nights, there are a lot of options! Wish list - quiet! close to a metro station, in a safe and pretty neighborhood, within walking distance ( an hour of walking) to both Notre Dame and Eiffel Tour , which I know are in opposite directions, private bath and ideally around $350 to $400 CDN per night, which is about 250 euros per night. We will be taking a train from Gare du Nord to Brussels after our time in Paris. Thank you kindly for your suggestions.

Given the excellent public transportation system, and how spread out the major tourist sites are, you are best served by having your accommodations close to a metro station and bus stop. If you look at a map of the Paris arrondissements, you see that they start at the 1st, where fhe Louvre is located, then spiral outwards, like a snail shell. Many forum regulars like to locate themselves in the 4th (the Marais), 5th (Latin Quarter), and 6th (St Germain des Préy).

You may try looking on booking.com, as it allows you to filter for area, budget, and amenities. I also trust the reviews because they can only be left by people who have stayed there. But book on the hotel's website where possible.

IMO, being nearer to Notre Dame is a better location for first time visitors to Paris. It puts you within easy walking distance to many of the sights in Paris with an abundance of cafes, restaurants, patisseries and shops.

Hotel Minerve in the Latin Quarter is a 10-15 minute walk to the Seine, Notre Dame, Sainte-Chapelle, Luxembourg Gardens and the Pantheon with a 10 minute walk to the RER B station at St. Michel Notre Dame or a 5 minute walk to the Metro station to get to Gare du Nord.

Hotel Luxembourg Parc across from Luxembourg Gardens is about a 20 minutes to Notre Dame and the Louvre and a 10 minute walk to the Metro for your trip to Gare du Nord.

Given that you only have three nights, I would suggest staying in St. Germain as it is close to many places. Last year I stayed at the Hotel Left Bank on Rue de l'Ancienne Comédie in Saint Germain with my two teen/tween grandkids. I loved the location, and the hotel was very nice with a charming vibe to it. There is a small lift and the hotel has A/C.

Our room was very clean and very spacious. There were coffee and tea-making supplies, along with a kettle. The breakfast was an additional cost, but because I booked the hotel directly, it only cost €5 pp. The breakfast itself was quite good. There were not only breads and pastries, but creamy scrambled eggs, crisp sausage links, fruit, cereal, yogurt, and tomatoes and cucumbers.

The location was outstanding. It was a block from the Odeon Metro stop, about a 10 minute walk to Pont Neuf and Notre Dame, and it was very convenient to sights, cafes, boulangeries, pastry shops and much more. We only had to walk out the front door to find food and drink options everywhere. I would stay here again.

You've looked at Rick's suggestions, right? Right?

And a quick Google search reveals:

As of January 1, 2025, there are 1,626 officially recognized hotels in the department of Paris (75). This figure encompasses roughly 87,016 rooms across the city. If you consider the broader "Greater Paris" area (Grand Paris), the count is significantly higher, with approximately 2,184 hotels and 133,000 rooms reported in 2023.

I stayed at the Citidines St. Germain-des-Pres. The location is excellent, within walking distance of a lot of sites. Also has a kitchenettes which is really nice. They have breakfast, but I don't think it's included.

I am also looking for a hotel around that same time and I too am aware there are many options.
We try to stay in a different area each visit (we fly direct from Seattle so Paris is usually on one end or the other) so I’ve decided this time we will stay near the river area, in the 6th and 7th, close to metro. We will arrive at Gare Lyon and depart from CDG.
Where some rooms are already gone others have not opened their reservations for February.
In addition to the great suggestion on this post https://community.ricksteves.com/travel-forum/france/paris-hotel-177b1528-0b2f-4c60-8ad3-cb400c291b7c
I’m also looking at Hotel Dames des Arts, Hotel de L’Abbey and Hotel Recaimer (reservations not open for all).
As I enjoy the search, I have to remind myself that there are many excellent choices not just one GOAT for all my criteria.

I have stayed twice in the past year at Hotel Abbatial.
I think it only has 45 rooms.
It’s on Blvd St. Germain, but in the 5th, the Latin Quarter.
Absolutely spotless, very helpful friendly staff, good full breakfast.
It’s near a Metro station and a couple of bus routes go right past it.
Twice weekly street market across the road, 3 laundromats all within a block, lots of restaurants and shops nearby.
Some rooms have little balconies and you can hear the bells of Notre Dame if you have a balcony.
It’s about ten minutes walk across the river from ND.
I will always go back there!

If you are serious about the Hotel Dame des Arts, please keep in mind that the rooms with balcony views of the Eiffel Tower book very very fast.

Thank you very much everyone for the suggestions. Some hotels are out of our price range and some are not showing prices and bookings for 2027 but I will look at each hotel online. I appreciate you taking the time to help me out.

I am a fan of the St Germain des Pres area - so many great restaurants, boulangeries, and patisseries. While pace can vary, you can be within a 20 minute walk of Musee d'Orsay and the Louvre, and less than that to Notre Dame (and if you go to Notre Dame, I highly recommend seeing St Chapelle as well - stunning stained glass).

It's good that you try to book now, 11 months in advance as that should provide a good chance for a good price.

I have a post on this forum from a few days ago
I took the recommendations of Mardee and JR and booked Hotel Left Bank.
Metro stations Odeon and Mabillon are nearby
