Paris hotel

We will be in Paris for a birthday celebration next February. We have stayed at a few RS hotels through the years in Paris and they’ve been great but for this trip I wanted to step up a bit given the special occasion.
I’m looking for recommendations in the 1st, 4th, 6th or close to those “borders” for three nights for around 400-500 euros (hoping February rates might help).
Two of my favorites have been Hotel Saint Louis en Isle’s (but I’d like a hotel lobby with a bar to meet up with friends) and Hotel Monge (not a desired location for this trip).
Any suggestions? I’ve been all over BC and travel sights but personal experience on this sight carries a lot of weight with me.

Also has anyone dined at Le Bon George’s in the 9th?

Take a look at Hotel Britanique which is close to the Hotel De Ville. I stayed there many times years ago, but on more recent trips it was just too pricey for me. I think, though, it might fit your budget. I loved the hotel, their breakfasts and the location.

My 'go to' hotel in Paris since 2002 has been the Hotel Bourgogne & Montana. While it has been remodeled many times over those years, and the staffing has changed, it is now modern and classic. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. I stayed in a superior room last October and was very happy. In February, you will also have lower rates.

The classic rooms are very similar but with lower ceilings. In February, I would ask for a room on a lower floor. With the rains, the hotel is a few blocks from the Seine, and the elevator shaft may flood. (Christmas 2023, we had to walk up 5 flights on a circular stairway a few times.) The breakfast is hearty. I always purchase a few flowers from the florist across the street to warm my room.

The National Assembly is across the square, so I always feel safe. Good restaurants in the quiet neighborhood, and within walking distance to many attractions. And they have a sauna! And a bar in the lobby!!

I have used Hotel Molière several times. It's a 5 minute walk from the Louvre, the Tuileries, and the Palace Royal. There are two metro stations even closer. For me it's ideal if I want to ben in that part of the city. No bar, but a really nice lobby that's always got coffee and pastries set out. The rooms are larger than many places, and I like the bathrooms.

We've stayed many times at Hotel Saint Louis en L'ile too but on our last trip we were with another couple so also wanted a lobby or bar.

We switched to a completely different area on the edge of Saint-Germain, and stayed at the Hotel de L'Universite.

It was perfect, we booked a junior suite with a terrace on the top floor, which even had a teensy view of the Eiffel Tower twinkling. The other couple just had a regular room.

There is a lovely lobby area which is used for breakfasts in the morning and is a bar in the evening.

We stayed at the Castille Paris on Rue Cambon in the 1st in November last year. It was very nice. There is a bar in the lobby and they have a good breakfast. We found a restaurant down the street, Flottes, that was wonderful. Good food and good service.

Hotel du Jeu de Paume just up the street from Hotel St Louis En L’Isle has an informal bar in the lobby. I’ve stayed at & enjoyed both hotels. I found the rooms fairly similar. At jeu de paume I went with their most basic option …my room was not as nicely decorated as St. Louis en l’isle, but was very comfortable & I’d definitely stay there again. The lobby area is nice & they also have a friendly hotel dog who’s around sometimes & enjoys a good ear scratch :) I got a decent deal for the first week of March, so definitely with checking out.

Thank you for the replies. I am reporting back to help future travelers. I am looking at flexible rates (I took a risk on non refundable once and it didn’t work out- never again). Breakfast isn’t important to us but I will add for about 10 euros a night pp. Also distance to a metro.
I learned two things in my search. Chatgpt (free version) is an interesting tool for comparing hotel but I did report two mistakes.
A few Paris hotels have not opened reservations for February and others are almost sold out.

Hotel Britannique. Great location, hotel bar. Unfortunately they only have a family room available during my dates which has two rooms connected through the hallway. BC score 8.7. Metro Lines 1, 4, 7, 11, 14 - 4 min walk
Hotel Bourgogne & Montana. Great location, lobby honesty bar, Superior Room, 408euros per night, flexible rate, 18m room, BC score. Line 12, 4 min walk. Lines 8, 13, RER C 8 min walk. Currently my first choice.
Hotel Moliere.Great location with lots of health oriented amenities that look wonderful but won’t be able to take advantage on this trip. 370 euro (flexible). No lobby bar. BC 9.1.
Hôtel Université Saint Germain des Prés. Another great suggestion but unfortunately they only have one room left Double handicap. Line 4, 5 min walk

Check out Hotel Left Bank St. Germain. In the heart of everything, easy walk to sites. Loads of restaurants with bars, very quaint place.

We absolutely loved our stay here. Quiet and Relaxed but wonderful quality - not stuffy at all and an ideal base.
