Paris For Rent

Can anyone provide input on apartments booked through Paris For Rent? The reviews on their website are glowing but I can’t seem to find even anything moderately critical which makes me a bit wary. Thanks

I would check TripAdvisor and Google for reviews. I actually took a look at Google just now, and the reviews overall are pretty good. A lot of them were from local guides, which makes me think that these are not just planted. Here's a link to the Google reviews if you want to check those out.

BUT having said that, it wouldn't hurt to check further. You could also ask AI. I've been doing that, and I've gotten some good advice. Just go to Google and plug in "I am considering booking an apartment through "Paris For Rent". Show me reviews from the last 5 years." You'll first get just some standard responses which show links to various websites. If you continue scrolling down, there will be an answer from AI that should address your question. Generally, I have found it's relatively accurate. Always take AI responses with a grain of salt and check the original sources (which they do give you links to), but it's a good way to get a quick answer.

Personally, I would be hesitant to rent from any kind of company that rents apartments for others. If there's any problems, you may have a hard time getting through to the owner, and you may not be able to get it resolved with the company. I would stick with the really legitimate companies, or better yet, come a book directly from the owner. You can always go to booking.com to look for apartments, but then find out if you can book directly with the owner there.

Tip once you've found a desirable rental:
Google search either the "name" of the apartment, or do a google lens search using the cover picture of the apartment.
We once rented a home in Sicily from a reputable rental agency. The name did not show up anywhere. The apartment was not as advertised. Once home, I did a google lens search using the cover picture, and found the apartment under a different name, under quite a few websites, and for much less than we had paid. I contacted the reputable rental agency, they were apologetic and surprised. They immediately removed that listing from their inventory. The owner/rep was responsible for changing the name and duping the agency.
So now I google both the name and the cover pic, to ensure it's REAL and priced similarly across different websites.
Hope this helps.

Honestly booking.com strikes me as the WORST option to book an apartment. They do absolutely nothing if the apartment is fraudulent. so the owner says it's in the 7th and it turns out to be the 17th.. too bad so sad. (not to mention that their website is meanwhile leaking data all over the dark web) Not to mention that while you THINK you are renting from the owner it's sometimes a scammer who doesn't even have any relationship to the apartment. Having read way to many horror stories I stay FAR FAR away from booking.com

As someone who books apartments in Paris quite often I now use two companies both of whom I know stand behind what they rent Vacation in Paris and Guest Apartment Services. The latter is nicer, but of course more expensive and it's less flexible on check in and check out dates. Both of these have actually INSPECTED their apartments so it's hard for them to be duped! (And IMHO 'reputable agency" would do that)
