Recent Reviews of "Paris for Rent"?

I'm looking for an affordable small apartment in Paris for late September. Rick's book lists several apartment rental agencies. Most are on the high end for me. However, this company Paris for Rent has places within my budget. There are not many recent reviews. If you have used this company, please let me know if you would recommend. Thanks!

What reviews I found were scary and the lack of photos is a red flag, they have just a few "glamor' shots of the units, but none of a lot of the space. I looked at one of the two bedroom, not one photo of the bedrooms or the bath..hmmm...

Vacation In Paris might have something in your budget and I find their descriptions and websites are accurate.

This company is not even based in France (Austin, Texas) and none of their properties has the government required, 13 digit registration number. I would approach with a great deal of caution. These are the types of apartments that government inspectors seem determined to shut down.

Well from the "renter" point of view the risk is only that the government makes the owner take the unit off the market. With a "reputable" agency you'd probably be taken care of. Unfortunately there's no real way to tell if a unit is "legal" Even with the registration # you have no idea if they have exceeded the allowable days for example. I've decided to use agencies I trust and "risk" it and not worry about the registration.
