Looking for a tour guide recommendation while in Paris May 2 to May 6. Would like email contacts for a private guide for 3 ladies.
Thanks in advance for any responses.
I have received numerous responses and have enough information now to arrange a guide.
Thank you everyone for your help and responses.
Craig
Hi Craig. Veronique Savoye! She actually guides for Rick Steves tours, but she does some private guiding as well. I have no idea if she’ll be available in May, but she’d be great if she is. I take French conversation classes from her (virtually), and she is really fantastic. She is extremely knowledgeable, but she knows how to make the information fun and interesting. She has a a very good website and also puts a lot of great virtual tours on YouTube.
You can also utilize the services of Paris Greeters.
Hi Mary, thanks for your response to my inquiry for Paris guides. I'll definitely follow up

Or a couple that we've been watching on youtube lately, Les Frenchies. Love them.

Veronique only does tours in Tours, not Paris. Paris Greeters are not necessarily private tours and they are free so caveat emptor. I wouldn't risk a minute of my valuable time in Paris on an unknown guide.
I have found very good to excellent guides through ToursByLocals.com quite a few times in a number of European cities. They are typically licensed guides and you can read reviews from prior guests. I find their cancellation policies to be reasonable.
Blockquote Paris Greeters are not necessarily private tours and they are free so caveat emptor. I wouldn't risk a minute of my valuable time in Paris on an unknown guide.
These posters would dispute the statement above - most likely from someone who has never used the service.
I second Veronica and Les Frenchies.
Les Frenchies aren't tour guides. They make interesting videos of places they like...particularly places with food.
Iris Amis, an American, has lived in France a long time and has passed the French government exams to be a certified guide. She doesn't make videos (though she was on the US tv show Globe Trekker), so people who watch videos don't know about her. She gets pretty booked up in advance.
I haven't been in touch with her for several years, but here is her old info:

Paris Greeters are volunteers who enjoy meeting international visitors and showing them their neighborhood or another interesting part of Paris. It can be very nice if that's what you are looking for.
Last September we took two tours with https://www.paris-walks.com/summer-walks_m.html. We took the Hemingway tour and the Montmartre tour. The tours were small and cost @ 25 Euros. Peter was an excellent guide from England who has lived in Paris for many years.
I too, have used Paris greeters and found The experience to be worth my time. We took a tour of the Marais, he had grown up there so he knew quite a bit about the area as well as the history of the area.
I also would recommend that you do some research and or contact the folks at join us in France because I believe they sometimes do tours in Paris as well. https://joinusinfrance.com/
In addition there is a guy with a podcast called the Earful Tower, and I believe that he does tours.
