Views of the French mobility lease. We are going to Paris for the month of October. All of the rental agencies require you to sign a "mobility Lease" which is meant for students and, reportedly, business people, not tourists. I do have a real estate business, so I could qualify as a business trip, BUT, I don't see business as an option to get a mobility lease. Any advice or experience with this?
this was discussed with details a couple of months ago - https://community.ricksteves.com/travel-forum/france/airbnb-mobility-lease
Yes, I read that thread, but it didn't really answer my question so I was hoping to get some useful replies.
Thanks
To qualify for a mobility lease, you must have a legitimate business or educational objective, one associated with work or study in France. Tourism is disqualifying.
Is your real estate business in France? Are you going to France on business? Just because you own a business does not make every trip you go on a business trip. My answer in the thread mentioned above lists the reasons that support a mobility lease. That being said, I think the agencies you are dealing with are calling one-month stays mobility leases to take advantage of the program.
