Lyon Restaurant Suggestions

We will be in Lyon for three nights in September and I have started some research on restaurants. Would like one Michelin star location and the other two nights somewhat less expensive but good. Looking at La Mere Brazier for Michelin. Staying in centre city area (2nd). Any recent experiences would be appreciated. Thanks..,

We were in Lyon last month and enjoyed dinner at Armada in Vieux Lyon. The dishes are small plates to share and were creative and based on the season. We speak a small bit of French and the team was happy to provide English explanations to us when we didn't understand. I think if the menu looks good to you, it would be a good option! Enjoy your trip!

La Mère Brazier is an excellent choice.

You could also go out to Roanne by train to go to Troisgros...

Best of luck!

I'd consider looking for restos that have been awarded the Michelin Bib Gourmand. They're less pricey and pretentious than the starred joints, and they provide excellent food.

Lyon is famous for Bouchons, informal eateries with really good food. Stick with them.

We went to a couple and really enjoyed them. The one I wrote down is Bouchon Tupin at 30 Rue Tupin.

Lyon is a great town.

As a former Lyon resident, I absolutely would recommend searching beyond bouchons. They're meat heavy, dreadfully traditional, and in my opinion boring. I understand their popularity with tourists, but I can't imagine eating at one more than once during a visit of a few days.
