Hello all!! I will be traveling to Champagne and Nice the second week of August and would love some local hotel recommendations. Would definately prefer air conditioning seeing as it sounds warm that time of year. We will be taking a train from Paris to Champagne and back and then flying from Paris to Nice and back. We would like accomodations in town with walking distance to local restaurants, bars and beaches but easy to get to from trains and airports. Thank you

I stayed at Hotel Durante a couple of times. It is near the train station in a quiet cul-de-sac. It was spring so I didn't need a/c. The hotel is in a park-like setting. Most of Nice is walkable from the train station, and there is a tram that goes toward the beach and old town. I would stay there again.
We've stayed at the Windsor Hotel twice and were very happy with it. Convenient to downtown and the beach.
