Hello, planning a trip to Nice this summer and trying to decide on a hotel. Does anyone have any suggestions of hotels that were nice, but also friendly on the budget and well located (relatively close to train station, beach, and Old Town)? It will be the end of my trip, for four nights and would love if breakfast is included as well. Or should we stay in another town such as Antibes? Just looking for any and all input. Thanks :)
We recently (April 2016) stayed at Les Cigales in Nice. Quick walk to seaside, convenient to train station, pleasant staff (and a laundromat only 2 blocks away!) We paid about $100 per night for two, continental breakfast included.
I stayed at the Hotel Solara a few years ago. I think I paid about $70 for a single (probably a bit more now but still under $100). It's very central on the pedestrian only street (Rue de France) leading up to Place Massena, where the tram stops so you can get to train station from there. It's a short walk (5 min) to old town and the flower market, maybe 10 min to Promenade Anglais and the beach. It's a very basic hotel, nothing fancy but gets good reviews on both booking.com and TA. I'd stay there again in a minute.
I like hotel Durante. It is fairly close to the train station. The tram that runs down toward the beach and Old Town is a five minute walk from the hotel. I like the hotel for the friendly, accommodating staff and large outdoor patio/garden area. Rates are reasonable.
Look for more options on booking.com.
Hotel Mercure Nice Marche aux Fleurs is directly across the the street from the Promenade and beach.
