We are looking for a hotel near CDG airport after arriving by train from Lyon. We don't fly home until the afternoon. We will have been to Paris a few days before our trip, so do not feel the need to stay in the city. We would prefer not to deal with the Metro with our luggage.
Looking for recommendations for a reasonably priced hotel nearby with shuttle service to the airport.

Have you looked at the IBIS Budget AT the airport. I stayed there in Oct & was very satisfied.

After looking at all the hotels close to the airport, I’m now considering spending the night in the city so we could take a walk in the morning before our long flight home.

With an afternoon flight you should be safe spending the night in the city if you want. I'd much rather spend a couple of morning hours walking around Paris than hanging out at CDG. Needless to say, leave plenty of time to get to the airport well before your flight.
