Frankfurt and Strasbourg Christmas Marjet

Hi. My daughter and I are scheduled to depart next Wednesday to Frankfurt and from there, we are planning to visit the Strasbourg and Colmar markets followed by the Frankfurt market. I’m wondering if I should cancel our trip with the new restrictions and travel 4 advisory. I am so bummed. This would be second time canceling. Any thoughts? Anyone there now? Will it be enjoyable,

Thank you.

None of the new restrictions affects tourists, unless you are disappointed by the closing of discos. France remains generally open, including markets. I understand Christmas markets in Frankfurt also are open.

Two recent posts discuss your challenges.

And BETS kindly shared her experience on testing positive while in France in November.

Will it be enjoyable? I personally don't like having to look over my shoulder with worry constantly...

there is a good thread of reasonably up to date openings and non-openings and recent closings of German Christmas markets.

It includes the visiting restrictions.

Are you both fully vaccinated and boosted? You'll need to be up to date on the vaccines to be able to enter 2G or 2G+ places. It is explained in that thread: https://community.ricksteves.com/travel-forum/germany/christmas-markets-that-are-open-or-plan-to-be-open

Because some have been closing recently it is valuable if after reading that you make your own checks before travelling if they are important to you.

Frankfurt on Foot, the very good walking tour company, did a video on YouTube of a Frankfurt Christmas market recently.
