What difference has anyone notiiced flying on Delta transatlantic flights between economy seating and economy comfort seating? Are the differences worth the extra cost? Thanks
There was a thread on this topic not too long ago. You might want to search it out. The bottom line seemed to be that most people thought the extra room was worth the cost. I agree with that. Ditto for United's economy plus. We trade off $$ and comfort by getting the upgraded seats only for the transatlantic segment of our flights, which usually means + / - 10 hours of less sardinish experience.
Absolutely worth the cost! When I flew Delta to Madrid, Economy Plus was just $80 each way. I would absolutely choose it again.
Thank you very much. On the Delta website once you have a list of possible flights, you can check availability of economy comfort seats by clicking on the little green chair icon. We will definitely be choosing economy comfort seats.
Good idea. And before you choose your economy-plus seats, take a look at the seat configuration on seatguru.com. On our Delta flight, some of the economy-plus seats didn't recline very much and/or were right across from the lavatory doors. Since you're paying extra, you might as well have the best possible experience.
I always look at the seat configurations on Seat Guru before I choose my seat, but know that between the time you purchase your ticket and the time you fly, especially with Delta, it's a very high probability that the kind of plane you are flying on will change, and therefore your seat choice may also change. It seems that every flight I have with Delta something has changed between purchase and flight.
I paid the upgrade for the first time this year, Seattle-Amsterdam, and do not recall much difference in the seat, but did enjoy being forward of the wing, instead of toward the back of the plane. Getting off the plane and heading for my connection was certainly quicker.
Amazing what 4 extra inches in leg room makes. And I am only 5 feet 2 Inches. Well worth paying the extra money.
