Be honest….

4 of us (2 couples in their 60’s) heading to Paris for 5 nights. We will have 4 full days there. We were offered a nice deal at Hotel Relais Bosquet. It’s for 2 rooms with guaranteed views of the Eiffel Tower. A view of the Tower was not a necessity, but the thought of it is pretty nice. However, I’m not sure if that’s the best area to stay in. I’ve heard pros and cons.

The things we plan to do there are:

-Seine Sunset Cruise (want to see Eiffel Tower lit up)

-Notre Dame

-Saint Chapelle

-Pantheon

-Musee d’Orsay

-Palais Garnier (just a look inside)

-Arc de Triomphe (Climb optional)

-Eiffel Tower (we may want to go part way up).

-Food tour through Montmartre + Sacré-Cœur

So be honest…. should we take this deal, or stay in a different area? If the latter, where would you suggest staying?

Take the deal. Nothing wrong with the location. 5 min walk to nearest Metro. 12 min walk to Eiffel Tower. Read the reviews on booking.com

I’ve never stayed at Hotel Relais Bosquet but it seems to have many fans here. See this recent post:
https://community.ricksteves.com/travel-forum/france/help-with-the-choice-between-two-paris-hotels

I’ve stayed in the 4th (3 times), 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 10th, and 12th arrondissements on various trips. While my preference is the 4th, I’ve enjoyed every trip to Paris. Paris hotels are expensive. If you have found a nice room at a good price, I think you will be fine.

What have you found more centrally located (St. Germain or Latin Quarter) to most of your to do list?

Are you all walkers with an occasional metro or bus (Arc de Triomphe & Montemarte)?

We stayed in that area back in 2015 and thought it was fine. We walked to most places, but a metro stop is close by.

I love this area. every time I stay someplace else I wish I was here.

This hotel is very nice. Good A/C which is important right now and a decent breakfast if you want. Rooms are well appointed.

-Seine Sunset Cruise (want to see Eiffel Tower lit up)

These cruises don't really see a lot of "sunset", and the month of your visit varies when sunset is.

-Notre Dame

Tickets are not require unless you want to climb the bell tower

https://www.tours-notre-dame-de-paris.fr/.../informations...

-Sainte Chapelle

Book tickets here:

https://www.sainte-chapelle.fr/en/visit

-Musee d’Orsay

Reservations required since March of this year, but not always really necessary, particularly during slower months

https://billetterie.musee-orsay.fr/en-GB/

-Palais Garnier (just a look inside)

It's closed right now but you can book a tour:

https://www.operadeparis.fr/en/visits/palais-garnier

-Eiffel Tower (we may want to go part way up).

https://ticket.toureiffel.paris/en

Tickets available in waves from 60 to 7 days before any visit.

I hope the timing works well for your cruise during the sunset hour. : ). I go on one each time I’m in Paris, and I thoroughly enjoy sitting outside during the entire ride, even in December all bundled up. One year, our sunset ride was a sky full of pinks that transitioned into purples & dark blues as we were going under the last bridges before the Eiffel Tower.

Well, I’m one of the Relais Bosquet “fans”. I always splurge and get the ET view rooms. To me there is nothing better than sitting in your jammies with a drink of something nice watching the ET twinkle. I’m an early to bed gal so usually not out and about at 10 but yes, I can stay up in my room for the sparkle!

I also like many of the restaurants in the area. I generally head back to the hotel late afternoon then go for an early-ish dinner. There are plenty of restaurants/cafes in the area that are service continu so I can go before 7.

Linda,

We were offered a nice deal at Hotel Relais Bosquet.

Where did you find this deal?

Have you checked the hotel’s official website to verify the rates?

Just make sure the deal is legitimate as there have been some hotel booking scams.

Always book directly through the hotel’s official website or a reputable, well-known travel platform.

Enjoy your trip!

I stayed in Relais Bosquet a year ago in the superior rooms with view and they were comfortable with many amenities and lovely staff. I booked with the hotel.Quiet street and good beds. Close to metro and bus, you will be changing buses and metro lines to reach a few of your listed sights. There are helpful staff in the École Militaire metro station..

I was upgraded to an ET view room on my birthday at the Relais Bosquet a few years ago and it was magical! That twinkling! I liked the hotel (the bathroom was a good size) and the location.

I’m sorry - I have nothing helpful to add, but I’m both chuckling and feeling sympathy at the thought of the 475 comments you got on FB for this question.

Be honest….

(twice)

I wonder why you would need to say that. Do you really think that people are coming on here, fellow travellers just like you, to lie to you?

Nigel, I said be honest because I did not want people saying go for it simply because I got a decent deal. And it’s such a common phrase. It was said lightly, not accusatory.
Priscilla, this was directly from the hotel. I had emailed them about pricing and some questions and mentioned what we were celebrating, and they offered the deal.
