Hello,
We are booked on a TGV train from Lyon to Avignon on June 14. There is talk of a strike that day. I know things can change but I want to have some alternative options prepared just in case. If my train is affected, are there bus options? Would these likely be affected as well? Any suggestions are appreciated.
We are travelling Geneva-Lyon on June 12. Not sure what may happen with that one.

Please see this thread where I posted information about how, if the strike is running when you're supposed to travel, to change your tickets or ride on a different train etc. (the dates here were from last week's strike, but the original website will update the dates according to future strikes -- the principle will remain the same, however):

There are a couple of buses run by https://www.flixbus.com/, but the schedules are not very attractive. I'd try for one of the limited trains that probably will run.
I read Kim's linked comments. The SNCF options mentioned were exactly the same as when we arrived on strike day March 31, so it looks like that's standard procedure. I believe our Paris-Bordeaux train was the only one of the 7 or so that day that was cancelled, but we just got on an earlier TGV (we made much better time from the airport than expected, even with the Metro/RER strike), and there were plenty of seats.
Just make sure when the train arrives on the platform it says "Lyon" and NOT "Gare de Lyon". Don't ask me how I know.
