We are currently in France. With the uncertainty of availability of jet fuel and the disruption this may cause, is there a need to reschedule to an earlier flight than our April 30 reservation? Mo
What I have been hearing is that the disruption due to lack of air fuel will begin in about 6 weeks or early June, just in time for summer vacations.
Of course, anything can happen at any moment.
And I trust that you will keep monitoring the situation.
Hopefully your airline and or the State Department will keep you updated.
There is an extensive conversation on this topic in this thread: https://community.ricksteves.com/travel-forum/general-europe/possible-jet-fuel-shortages
No one in this forum or on TV can predict what will happen today, tomorrow, or April 30. You'll have to make the best decision you can based on your personal risk tolerance and worry level. If you have travel insurance, read the super fine print right now to determine if it will cover a delay situation caused by canceled flight.
What CL said.
Since EU law apparently requires airlines to make price increases due to fuel cost known to passengers with two weeks notice afaik and we have not heard anything yet, April should be expected to be safe. Even if this law doesn’t apply to you, it would apply to others and no rumors have made it to the news as of now.
