Paris - Three Rooms

Hello all,

We finally booked our tickets; here are the details - March Spring 2026

I need three rooms -
Room 1 - 3 guests two adults and child age 9
Room 2 - 2 guests
Room 3 - 1 guests

We have a spectrum of ages from under 14 to two senior citizens. I am having a really hard time finding something that can accommodate us all. I really like the aesthetic of Le jardin de Verre by Locke but their rooms say max 2 per room. I’d like to be as close as I can to the tourist locations but not in the middle of the craziness. Room 3 guest has a strict budget and I’d like to be under 250 a night. I know this might be impossible but I am hoping that after hours of researching, maybe I missed a small boutique hotel. Any tips or advice would be great.

Under $250 a night in Paris near tourist locations may be unrealistic. Try Hotel du Champ de Mars, Hotel Beaugency, Hotel de la Tour Eiffel, Hotel Duquesne Eiffel, Hotel de Neuve, Hotel de la Bretonnerie, and Hotel Beaubourg.

That budget will limit your choices. Take a look at Hotel Minerve, about 10 minutes from the Locke Property. Single rooms in March are under 200eur/night. It's about a 10 minute walk to Notre Dame or the Pantheon, 15 minutes to Luxembourg Garden and only 5 minutes to the best croissant in Paris with good bus and metro connections.

I like booking.com. You can use it just for research and then book through the lodging or book through booking.

Be sure to read the websites carefully when you get to the actual booking part of the rooms.

I have stayed at the Hotel Beaugency often since 2014. I started to book a few nights recently and as I got to the "paying page" I realized they had changed their policies on 3-night stays. They give you a discount on 3 nights and previously this had been with free cancellation. I see they now immediately charge a non-refundable 1st night. I don't ever book non-refundable so backed out of that in a hurry. The last time I stayed at Beaugency was 2024 and although the staff and location are excellent, the premises need a major renovation (which will drive the price up!). They changed owners in 2023 or 2024 so wonder if a reno is in the offing. Rick Steves 21 day Best of Europe tour stays there.

I also think 250E may be borderline or low depending on your actual dates.

Are you open to booking an apartment versus a hotel?

When we travel in larger/family groups like you are, this is our preferred lodging type. Usually the per person/per night charge is lower than individual hotel rooms, plus there is the extra living room space as well as kitchen facilities, which can really be a budget stretcher. We always eat breakfast in the apartment and often prepare other meals “at home” as well.

I don’t have any specific suggestions for Paris since we haven’t stayed there (I’m sure others would have recommendations, or you can check booking.com), but it’s how I would be approaching a stay like yours.

Thank you so much. I removed it since now the budget has changed. I noted the two recommendations from that post.

I just checked the Beaugency, comparing it to the Hotel des Grandes Ecoles, where we're booked in early June. The Beaugency was about €50 higher for a double without breakfast, than the €305 we're paying at the Grandes Ecoles for a double, breakfast included.

Setting filters on booking.com may well be your best bet. But if you can, do book through the hotel. Sometimes emailing the hotel asking about rates and amenities will get you a little bit of an advantage, I've found.
