Hotel de l'empereur - Paris

Does anyone have any reviews or thoughts on the Hotel de l'empereur in the 7th?

I am in the process of setting up our family trip to Europe yet again (July 2022), and I'm looking at booking connecting rooms with a view of La Invalides at the Hotel de l'empereur in Paris. It looks very nice on their website, and fits into our budget, but I thought I would see what experiences others may have had.

Thank you for the link and the great info JHK! I must of typed it in wrong when I did a search, because nothing showed up.

Thank you Agnes! I have read some of the reviews on trip advisor, booking, etc, but thought I would pick the brains of the experts on this forum also. Based on the 2020 link listed previously, I should be happy with the hotel.

I answered on the other thread but I'll add here too. I've stayed here a number of times and really like it. The view rooms of Les Invalides are stunning. That gold dome when it's lit at night is beautiful. I first stayed here on the Paris and Heart of France tour, but then have stayed several times on my own.

The only minus is that the breakfast room is small. If the tables are full in the breakfast area, you can get your food and take it out into the lobby/lounge to eat if you don't mind your food being on a low table.

Staff there is very nice, it has AC and an elevator. It's between 2 Metro stops but they are both on Line 8 so it doesn't matter which way you go. To me it's very walkable to the major sites BUT I like to walk a lot in Paris. You'd think since it's on a busy street that it might be noisy but I've not found it so.

I'd book there again with no problem.

We have also stayed often at L'Empereur , and would second Pam's reply . If you run into any issues with available dates, be sure to look at L'Empereur's sister hotel , just a few doors further down The Rue Chevert - Hotel Muguet . It is a similar place , expertly run by the same owners .

Hi Vikus, we’ve stayed at the Hotel de l’Empereur three times and have reservations for 2022. Excellent location with great views of Napoleon’s Tomb. Metro station one block away. Staff has always been helpful and treated us well. Thumbs up!

Thank you everyone for the information and reviews on the hotel!! I was able to book the connecting rooms with views of La Invalides for next July. Now, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we don't have to reschedule everything for a 4th time!

Steven, I don’t think l’Empereur and Muguet are “related” any more. L’Empereur is now listed as being part of The Malone Collection which includes Relais Bosquet but no mention of Muguet. The websites are still similar looking otherwise.

Great hotel…..we loved our stay there….especially loved being so close to Rue Cler and the laundry, bakery and cafe for people watching when we were there. Seems I remember that it was very near a subway entrance that made our in-Paris travel easy though we also walked a lot during that trip. We were there one summer that the temps were outrageous……we had to wash out sweaty clothing every day after walking and hang it to dry out the bathroom window at night ….worked out just fine and the AC was a gift!
