By the slice or whole pie, where is your favorite place to get pizza in the Eternal City?

Currently, Pinsere, which is located at Via Flavia 98. I'll be going back doing more research on this very question in February so that might change!

I have not been to either of those places, I may have to try them both when we go back in March! I have heard Da Remo is great, too. One of my favorites is Pizzeria Florida on via Florida near Largo Arenula. You can sit at a bench looking over Largo Argentina to eat!

Dar Poeta in the Trastevere is great for a whole pie; but it is hard to go wrong, also try small places selling pizza by the weight, a thicker, foccacia type pizza.

Da Remo (Testaccio)

If all the staff weren’t Laziali (fans of Roma’s arch rival team, Lazio!), I would say this is my favourite pizzeria in Rome. Many Romans agree! The pizza is perfectly roman: thin, charred and not a perfect round and I come here for the Margherita. Located in the foodie hub of Testaccio, the clientele at Da Remo is mainly local.

I like the uniqueness of dar Poeta and the fun of getting lost going there

We have three favorite places in Rome, culled after 4 1/2 years of living there and eating pizza weekly.

Dar Poeta in Trastevere - Expect a wait but also know they are open continuously starting at Noon. Very busy after 20:00

Da Remo in Testaccio - Opens at 20:00. Try to arrive at opening and there's a good chance of immediate seating. Be sure to have a suppli before your pizza.

La Pratolina in Prati - Make a reservation. They have seatings at 19:30 and 21:30. If you make a res for 20:00, they will ask you to vacate your table by 21:30. The sfizi (fried foods as appetite spoilers) are great but filling. Our favorite of the sfizi is the Terra selection.

Thank you for all of the advice. I had a great trip with great pizza. Would now in addition to everyone's comments add Roscioli for by weight pizza.

A nondescript place in some small side street that I'll never find again. :-(

Me too. Even if I could remember the name it'd be pretty pointless to post it here as a recommendation as evidently there are so many others that come recommended it surely highlights the subjectiveness of personal preference.

Easy, Pizzarium or, now called Bonci. Hands down, best pizza ever eaten. A bit spendy but, so worth it. The crust is extraordinary and the toppings that are used are endless but, well put together.

He's grown his business since he first opened, now has a few other locations but, the original is just around the corner from the Vatican, across the street from Cipro Metro Station. I ordered two slices, sat on the curb and enjoyed, turned around and ordered two more.
