We just spent two days near Dufftown. Contrary to what is in the Rick Steves Scotland book, there is at least one fantastic restaurant in town. That is the Capercallies Restaurant. In fact, we enjoyed the food and very reasonable prices so much, we went back the next night. And the beer was cold!. Excellent, friendly service with prompt delivery of our meals. I highly recommend the roasted venison haunch while my wife enjoyed the brevette with wild mushrooms. Otherwise, yes, there's not much to recommend eatery- wise in Dufftown.
