Portugal and the Douro River Valley

I just returned from Portugal spending time in both Lisbon and Puerto. If you were a fan of seafood and wine Portugal is definitely a place you should visit. I had some of the best sardines octopus and codfish and these pairs nicely with a range of different wines. In in Porto I had a chance to learn about the history of traditional and port wine making in Portugal The views from the Douro Valley are incredible I also had a chance to take a boat ride down to Douro River itself. If you plan to travel to Portugal, and plan to enjoy food and wine, let me know

If you liked Portugal, I would highly recommend taking the Rick Steve's Portugal tour. We went in 2019 before Covid, and just returned on our own after spending 10 days there -- Lisbon and Porto. The Rick Steve's tour covers much more ground and is more comprehensive.

We can't wait to return again.

I’m interested in hearing more about your recent time in Lisbon, Puerto and the Douro Valley, Sanjaysrik. We’re hoping to continue with our plans to travel to that area in a few weeks and would be interested in any specific recommendations you might have!

Hi
Porto is in Portugal, El Puerto is in Spain.
This is an important distinction if making travel reservations.
