Moderately priced restaurants in Monterosso/Cinque Terre

Planning an early October 3 day/2 night trip to Cinque Terre- staying in Monterosso. We are interested in a couple of suggestions for a reliably priced lunch or dinner. Our research has discovered 100/person which is out of our price range. Any suggestions for off the beaten path or local family owned places would be appreciated. Thanx

We loved eating at Belvedere's that is right on the beach, the pasta is amazing!

Sounds perfect--do you know if they accept reservations?
Did you have any problem being seated?

Carl/Sandy, take a look at Cantina di Miky, right on the street (Via Fegina) fronting the beach in the "newer" end of Monterosso. It's a farm-to-table/sea-to-table place that's owned and operated by Christine Mitchell-De Fina (U.S. ex-pat) and her husband Manuel De Fina, he of the De Fina restaurant family (dad is owner and chef at more upscale Ristorante Miky). Definitely local! They don't post menus as the fare changes with season, availability, catch of the day, etc. but I'm sure you can have a dandy lunch or dinner for well under 100 euro pp.

Menu with prices will be posted outside the entrance, and there is a small pp coperto fee of, oh, a few euro apiece. Bottled water, as in all Italian restaurants, will also have a small fee: well worth it to do things the Italian way.

Their website is strictly in Italian - although you won't have any issues with English there - so run it through a translator. Make reservations.
