We will be in Keswick Sat. Sun and Mon. in April. Looking for a good restaurant (no beef or pork) for. my birthday on Saturday. Do. I need to make reservations before we leave USA? HELP!!

One of the best restaurants in town is at the Skiddaw Hotel. It is adviseable to book which can be done on their website.
But if you have a car, or take a taxi, the Armathwaite Hall at the other end of Bassenthwaite Lake would also suit. You would have to call or e-mail them to book. If you wanted to you could add on a spa experience.
A taxi should not be more than £15 each way, for the 8 mile journey.
On another day you might like to have afternoon tea at Bassenthwaite Lake Station on the Orient Express replica train, from the movie Murder on the OE.
