Has anyone done a Streaty food tour in Sicily?

Looking for something to do before our RS tour starts in mid June. We enjoyed the food tour included in our Best of Rome tour and were looking at the tours by a company called Streaty in Palermo. Thoughts or recommendations?

We did the Streaty Food Tour in Palermo last April before our RS Sicily and loved it. They kept the group small but everyone was very friendly. Our guide was energetic, fun and engaged with everyone in the group. He was a local, so I think he knew the people almost everywhere we stopped. Several stops included alcohol, and there was a lot of food spread out over the evening. Not only did we love the food, but it really helped us to feel confident in Palermo - he even taught us how to cross the major streets. We did it our second night in Palermo.

What Patty said! We did the same as she did and loved our Streaty tour just as much. Some um…..unusual but delicious samples of Palermo street foods and drinks. We certainly had plenty of both so I don’t recommend doing this the same day your tour starts or it’s possible you won’t be able to enjoy your first group dinner!

I agree with Patty and andi. Last September, we joined a Saturday evening Streaty tour before our RS tour started, and it was great fun. Our young local guide spoke good English and entertained us with facts and tales of Palermo. There was a variety of good food (including the optional spleen sandwich), with wine and beer. We finished with gelato near the port as the city's night life was kicking into high gear. For us, it was money and time well spent.

Ditto. I did it on my full day the day before tour started. I chose a late morning time using the food and drink as my lunch. It’s as generous as your stomach can handle. Enjoy!

Okay-what I want to know is what did you learn about crossing major streets in Palermo???

I am hoping for insight as we will be there in May!

I don’t want to get roasted for this, but the guide told us not to expect traffic to stop for you. Make sure you use the crosswalk, but the then step out confidently. It worked for us throughout our visit. I did try to do it with other people crossing, but occasionally I had to do it by myself.
