I just returned from a quick trip to Firenze. Soo many Trip Advisor reviews were faulty. We now carefully screen a restaurant report when it appears that the reviewers were exhausted.
We needed a spot with a specific location, as my daughter had planned to ice skate in the municipal rink. With some fear, we went to Caffe Decco, "featuring American Bar", "open every day in August".
Slightly encouraged by the poor translation, we ordered pizza, risotto, toasts with toppings appetizer, pesto pasta. I flatter myself that I make a good risotto. This was one of my favorites ever. We shared tastes, something our group rarely does, and my son in law ordered his own risotto.
It was small enough that I could thank the chef. While we were there, working locals started come my in.
On this trip I have spent much more for much less.
Oh, it was clearly a spot for live and die music and dancing in a the evening.
