Cooking Class, San Gemini

I recently traveled to Umbria and stumbled upon a seriously amazing experience in a hilltop medieval town called San Gemini. Lorena Autuori does cooking classes in her gorgeous medieval house and the experience is one of a kind! You not only get to eat an authentic Italian meal, but also help prepare it! This is a must do if you are traveling in the area! Check out he website with the following link http://www.percorsicongusto.com

My friends and I took this class with Lorena in late June this year. It was indeed a great class. Lorena is a skilled teacher and we were hands on with all items. Her home is lovely and dinner with her after cooking (wine included) was great. We had requested a menu that was perhaps too ambitious - 4 dishes plus dessert - so we ran over the allotted time but she was very gracious about extending it. The only change we would suggest is to eliminate the get-acquainted time at the beginning and just dive right in. She had prepared a lovely fresh juice and a tart for us, which we enjoyed, but after five+ hours, we felt maybe we could have used that first half hour to get a jump on our long list of items.

San Gemini is a gorgeous small town with lovely shops and restaurants. We got to spend a week in an incredible villa there and Lorena's class was a cherry on the top of this fabulous experience.
