Big Cheese wheeling and dealing with a French accent

Rians has been making cream cheese and dessert cheeses with a French flair/accent since 1901, they expanded beyond the border in 2009, becoming international cheesewheeler-dealers in 2009.

I just now noticed that they have a strong toehold here in northern California since their acquisition of Marin French Cheese Co. in 2010.

Marin French Cheese Co. descends from the first French style cheese producers in the western USA

Petaluma Camembert maker Louis Cantel, the first French cheese maker in the United States, taught the sons of a Marin County dairyman to make soft French-ish cheeses, and in 1906 they started marketing them as Rouge et Noir Brand within the Thompson creamery product line.

If you compare the webpages you'll see the same photo on both, showing the 3rd generation Rians sons when they took their company worldwide and bought out the 3rd generation Marin cheese dairymen.

This kind of historical connection makes travel to France and Marin County richer, if you ask me.
