Best restaurants in Strasbourg??

Any recommendations for restaurants that are authentic, non-toursity, and good for groups?

How about just plain "really good" and "convenient to most of the sites"? I have no idea if it was "authentic" (what exactly does that mean anyway?), and I'm pretty sure that at least half the of people eating around me were fellow tourists. But my wife and I (and our dog) had a delicious meal at some place called "Gurtlerhoft", which is right in front of the cathedral. It has a large dining area located in a shaded outdoor courtyard, so on a hot day, it's significantly cooler than the concrete outside. Probably not the locals-only mom & pop joint that locavores fantasize about, but with food that good, who cares?

In 2012 we lunched at Le Monceau, 6 place Saint Thomas. Open 8h30 - 19h Tues through Sat., and Sunday 10h - 17H. They have terrace seating which is quite nice when the weather is warm, as it was then. Good food, good service, and reasonable prices. We'll return there this year! Not sure if they speak English, but they probably do ... it being in one of the homes of the European Parliament.
