Best coffee

International Coffee Day:
So, where on your travels did you have your best coffee?

I had one of my best ones at Observation Deck at 300 in Abu Dhabi (2015). They offered a large variety of coffee sorts and roasts and I ordered a random one which I do not remember. All remember is that I savored every sip combined with a great outlook.

In my former home town Berlin I often tried to include a stop at Impala Coffee between Nollendorfplatz and Winterfeldtplatz.

Istanbul but the best cup anywhere was at Cecilia’s Garden Cafe in Los Osos, CA.

By talking to the manager learned they got their beans and coffee from nearby SLO Roasted coffee.

Went there myself. Bought a bag of their Big Sky Blend.

Drink a cup of it every morning and depending on time I’ve been known to spend a weekend in nearby Morro Bay and then pick up bags of coffee and head home OR I just order and have it mailed to me.

Besides travel excursions ordering coffee to have shipped to me is as extravagant as I get.

Before bed I fill the kettle with H20, place filter in my favorite coffee mug, and pour in medium ground coffee. About 2 large tablespoons.

In the morning kettle turned on. Read news headlines on the iPhone while waiting for the kettle to screech.

Kettle screeches, grab it, turn off stove and pour hot water over grounds. Once that process is over I take the steaming cup of java into living room and plop in my favorite chair.

Find the NY Times mini crossword and start my morning puzzle solving drinking the coffee for the caffeine jolt.

When I worked 16 hour days I often had a coffee at noon to keep me going. Now that I’m retired the pre dawn cup is the only coffee I have.

My best coffee is from my home bean to cup Melitta TS machine set exactly as I like it, alternating between Lavazza Rossa beans and Grumpy Mule beans, as a modified cappuccino.

3 40 ml espressos, one 200 ml cappuccino daily.

Was in Sitka earlier this year. Wish I had known about that coffee shop and your opinion. Would definitely have tried it.

It was the freshly ground espresso made with Jamaica Blue Mountain beans after lunch at a 1-star Michelin in Chablis about 15-20 years ago. I've had Blue Mountain since, but it has never had that amazing flavor as it did at that restaurant .
